BEAT FESTIVAL - IRONDALE ENSEMBLE presents "Color Between the Lines" on September 20 at 7:30 pm in Red Hook, Brooklyn. $20
Continuing its 1599 Project, The Irondale Ensemble creates its chamber version of Julius Caesar.
With a company of 8 actors, the ensemble both strictly adheres to Shakespeare's text and then shifts into its own, radical style of storytelling. The result is a fast and pointed view into Shakespeare's classic.
The Ensemble was founded in 1983 with the mission of both working with established texts and in discovering new forms of performance. "Color Between the Lines" is the history of Brooklyn's abolitionist struggle, told through original company created music and based on newly uncovered history.
