"On the Waterfront" by Brave New World Repertory Theatre

In the summer of 2009, Brave New World Repertory Theatre a Brooklyn-based theater company under the direction of Claire Beckman - produced Budd Schulberg's "On the Waterfront" at the Waterfront Museum. Performances took place in Red Hook, Brooklyn (the neighborhood whose news articles inspired the film and the play), at Pier 84 in Mahattan the foot of 44th St., and in Hoboken (the location where the film was shot.)

The play was staged as a reading, with action on the barge's roof, action coming up through the hatches, and on the gangway.   Examiner.com review.
